Morrison or Moore are people whose typical writing I'd describe as "too weird" and some may be so, but they can write a good story with or without weird vibes. Ales Kot has yet to accomplish this because McDonald's level self-referentiality and quoting sociology papers can't pass for substance.

Yeah, but many of the current storytimes have been various Rebirth titles that the fans have already read recently, so there's not much to discuss. The Venom storytime got a lot more replies since the majority of it wasn't stuff the fans read in the past week.

It's not people getting bored of storytimes, it's OP's picking low hanging fruit for their storytimes. I remember storytiming Four Women a while back, it got a lot of replies since most people hadn't seen it before.

Art is the biggest reason, but if you were a fan of the Majorie Liu X-23 this character is kinda a spin off, except more violent and angry and doesn't have to censor shit like Marvel forces you to.

I am also a fan of world building and this is a nice high fantasy world meets a touch of steampunk. And rather than a european influenced by asian culture it's an asian culture influenced by something like Roman culture. Also, it deals with Lovecrafian ancient gods, so that's another tick on my liking box.

I recommend downloading the first trade at least, although the story is getting better as it goes.

I find most of Image to be cliche and boring. It's not much better than the big two. In fact, Image is for Sci fi what the big two is for capeshit. Though I love stuff like the continuation of Stray Bullets, a few of Brubaker's, Hickman's and Graham's work.

I have the same reservations that you do with them. I like the creativity, but exclusively read them in trade format, and try to not get excited about any series since it can be years in some cases to continue.
Apparently they cracked down a bit on the "release two issues then delay the next for half a year" pattern, but large gaps still exist when an arc ends

Yeah, but in a way it allows them to avoid filler better. How many comics have like three or more issues a year that could have just been thrown out before it was printed? The timeline of getting image comics out is more like a new book in a series as they are building a new story arc. I know most people won't like that concept but if you think about it, it tends to at least take a year or two for new books in a series to come out. DC and Marvel can always delay a new story arc by throwing in a zany random fight between a back catalog villain for an issue or two while they get their main story finished. Or just print the purest form of filler comics where everyone debates before a fight for a few issues. Gotta love those.

What do you all make of Black Cloud so far? Im enjoying it enough to keep pulling (mostly for Hinkle and Wilson's art) but the story has yet to really grab me
