I flipped my shit the other night when I heard this on the radio.

Couple of things.
1. The trailer came out a year before the release and promised us a story about an evil genius who stole the world's monuments. It turned out to be just the first 3 minutes of the actual movie, and everything that happened in it was done by someone else.

2. Gru is barely evil much less a genius; the most evil person in the movie is the woman running the orphanage.

3. Mandark villain with Dilbert boss dad.

4. Carell phoning it in. When the legally retarded Russell Brand is outacting you, fucking wake up.

Its best defense is that 2 was exponentially worse.
