You could put Joker in a sealed chamber in the middle of the fucking sun and he would escape.

This is why he doesn't feel like the only reasonable thing to do is kill Joker. Logically, there'd be no reason he could escape from these insane prison cells. We know he's going to escape because if he didn't there'd be no story, but in-universe, there's no reason to think he'll somehow escape.

They explain over the years that the joker is a force of nature and nothing can stop him. In Rebirth Batman even made Mister Miracle build him a inescapable cell.

Problem is the Joker is either broken out or finds ways to get out whether it be guards or other villains using him for their own needs.

Also DC makes their geniuses so overpowered that the Riddler can break the entrance to that cell in 14 seconds. A cell built New God technology stolen from Apokolypse. D.C. Villains are just overpowered in general

The Joker should have had a big classic story in 1989/1990 where he dies and stayed dead. It'd be some kind of deal where the Joker does something and tries to kill another one of Batman's loved ones and at the end Bruce has the opportunity to let him die or to save him, and chooses to save him despite all he's done (especially since Killing Joke and Death in the Family happened the year before) but fails, causing the Joker to die. It'd prevent the Joker from having stupid plot armor, all the "Batman should've killed the Joker already", and prevented all the Joker wank that's happened in these modern stories.

There's a rumor that the fans pressured the author into bringing the character back to life but it's false.
The author himself clarified that he never intended for Avdol to die permanently and that he just wanted to shake up things a little. And he also explained that it didn't really work out because readers didn't really care about Avdol, they just wanted to see Jotaro punch people. And he himself wasn't sure what to do with him after he came back.
