The bigger one is an older prototype he had stored away just in case and he and Rocket have Baby Groot get it back to escape in a tediously long sequence where Baby Groot keeps bringing back the wrong thing.

That's the problem with Marvel Comics right now, not just that they try to Synergy but they don't fucking get what makes the movie characters likeable.

So they just flanderize them and make them into one note characters.

Humphries' Yondu is shit , you could tell he didn't know what to do with the character aside of making him a skeevy generic pirate and he didn't even bother to make him interesting. Even Yondu's crew is shit, they look pretty generic and hipsterish and have none of the charm and personality that Kraglin and some of the MCU Ravagers had.

Of course after vol. 2 came out you bet people are going to be writing shit MCU-lite Yondu as caring about Peter and him being a father figure despite Peter having met him when he was an adult because they don't know how to write their relationship.

Although OG Yondu is pretty far removed from both characters, at least MCU Yondu is charming in his own way and works as an independent adaptation for the movies. Current 616 Yondu is just fucking garbage across the board.

The cartoons, video games, and movies are raking in far more people and money than the comics. That's where the talent is being put because that's what is important. The comics at this point are on their own to justify their existence as anything but a story supplement for the movies.

The problem is that they have people on the comics that are completely inept. Just because your best is not there does not mean that your worst has to be complete shit.
