DC wants to appeal to teens, gamers and young adults, who don't like Superman or Wonder Woman because they're "overpowered" and other stupid reasons.

So that's why they've been pushing Superman in multimedia more with morally gray stuff like Injustice and Man of Steel, and Wonder Woman with a sword and being a "warrior".

And that's why that stuff appeals ONLY to teens, gamers and young adults, because kids and adults know Superman and Wonder Woman as the characters from the 70's movie/TV show and from cartoons and toys, not these "mature" versions.

Meanwhile the comic people realized nobody likes those and are making Superman and Wonder Woman into their old selves again.

Once Wonder Woman went into the Middle East, took the leaders of two opposing militant factions and tied them together with the Lasso of Truth so that they would understand each other's stances and truths.

This got the two leaders to declare a ceasefire and start working together, but immediately you had zealots rioting because their leaders "betrayed" them and of course this was instantly disrupted with suicide bombings.

The problems there are far more complex than just political or economic. The people themselves don't want to cooperate.

It's a true credit to Snyder as a filmmaker that he can present movies so dour and dull that the times Clark actualyl saved people is rendered irrelevant due to the tone and storytelling of the production.
