Character adaptations that are better than the source material.
Pic very related.

I can't even remember what Yondu was like in the comics.
I mean it's been a long ass time since I read the 90's run but the most interesting characters to me where Guardians were Vance, Starhawk, Rita, Simon, Charlie and Nikki.
Injustice Alfred

I know we can all agree that MCU Captain America is 100x the the Captain America that 616 Captain America will ever be.
>>92520311
He was Legolas, but in space.
>>92520311
Vance is Major Victory right? He's tight
>>92520311
Basically space hippie with a bow and arrow.

MCU Captain America:
Wasn't anal about destroying an inhabitable planet.
Didn't strongarm friends into allowing him to join their circle.
Didn't hunt down his friends.
Didn't prevent friends from saving the multiverse.
Didn't go full Nazi (prior to Secret Wars).
Reconcile with Stark.
Trustworthy and willing to trust friends.
616 Captain America:
Anal about destroying an inhabitable planet.
Strongarm friends into allowing him to join their circle.
Hunted down his friends.
Prevented friends from saving the multiverse.
Went full Nazi (prior to Secret Wars).
Pursue a personal vendetta against Stark while the universe were hours from death.
Abandoned his adopted daughter and actually believed she was guilty (she was totally innocent).

I don't know about Cap, but MCU Stark is leagues better than his comic counterpart on the virtue he is an actually likeable character. Arguably the best character in the MCU.
>>92519914
I think Gunn has genuinely improved on all of the characters except Star-Lord. And even then I like his Star-Lord just as much as the comic version. Pre-Bendis, natch.
>>92520615
When did movie Steve blow up a planet?
Your arguments are just, what has Steve done in over 70 years of comic book history, compared to what he has not gotten a chance to do in 5 movies.
>>92520646
Frank Langella as Skeletor is the best Darkseid we are ever going to get on the big screen.
>>92520910
His Gamora is objectively worse and doesn't do anything in his movies. I hate Gunn's Groot too and wish he was intelligent yet brutal instead of being le funny meme tree.
>>92520615
I don't think MCU cap would want to destroy an inhabited planet either to be honest.
It just isn't a conflict he has had to deal with yet.
A lot of these are just scenarios he hasn't had to deal with.
And I don't think he and Tony have reconciled at all. He just reached an olive branch to Tony. I'm sure in the next movie they aren't going to be on great terms.
>>92520795
To be fair, pre-movie Stark was really boring.
RDJ basically created the modern stark. And marvel has been trying to emulate it with varying levels of success
>>92521061
He didn't really show that much intelligence during the DnA run either. He was mostly just the big guy on the team.
>>92520413
Yes he's one of my favorites, I hope if they continue with the OG Guardians Ravager group in the movie after vol. 3 they somehow manage to have Vance in it.
>>92520425
>>92520398
>>92520472
Ahh OK because I didn't remember anything about him, need to re-read some of the old Guardian comics.
>>92521191
>>92520795
Movie Stark would be a better character if any of his character development stuck.
He keeps learning to be a better person and keeps reverting to a giant asshole.
>>92521061
I don't remember Gamora doing anything of note in modern Cosmic besides fucking Rich.
>>92520615
>Strongarm friends into allowing him to join their circle.
If your referring to the illuminati, yes because they are a bunch of near sociopaths that have proven before they can't be trusted (wwh) & are tampering with powers they no moral right to wield.
> Went full Nazi (prior to Secret Wars).
Your a god damn mother fucking retard if you think tracking down planet destroying criminals on the run is in ANY mother fucking way Nazi-ish.
For ffuck's sake Falcon sided with him then if Steve was doing Nazi-ish stuff he would have bailed just like he did to Carol.
You are factually fucking wrong.
>>92520615
> Abandoned his adopted daughter and actually believed she was guilty
It's not abandonment when he has no fucking way to access Dimension Z.
There is no evidence he believed she was guilty. You can believe in a person's innocence & still fucking believe they should be detained until proof can be found.
>>92520392
I still think Stern and DeMatteis versions of Steve are better versions of Cap than MCU Cap but otherwise I can agree.
MCU Cap has that pigheaded stubborness and punchhy attitude that Brubaker's Cap did, both Stern and DeMatteis (and Gruenwald in the beginning) wrote Steve as a guy who was always willing to listen and consider and talk to a person with a different opinion and liked to resolved conflicts and avoided violence if he could.
>>92520615
>Reconcile with Stark.
>MFW Ultimate Steve never even got into a fight with his Tony and they both got genuinely along and thought the idea of a Civil War was stupid.
>>92521657
Hickman made everyone look bad except Reed and Doom because he wanks to them so hard.
>>92521145
Yeah I think the smartest thing he did was help Maximus with that bomb and that's ignoring Maximus' crazy claim about Groot being smart.
That said he does help Rocket decypher a code in Guardians 3000.
>>92521913
Errr I mean in Guardians of Infinity.
Obligatory

The most "normal" person there is Namor.
>>92521323
But he reverts to different flavors of asshole. That's in line with someone who is essentially broken but trying to be better than who they are at their core
>>92521323
That's because his character is being a broken man who always overreacts to things he feels responsible for.

It's not worth it. The stuff that actually involves Eternia is decent but most of the film takes place on Earth with generic human teens that you aren't going to give a shit about. Also Dolph Lundgren is terrible and uncharismatic and almost unrecognisable as He-Man.

>>92528553
It's worth it because of Langella's Skeletor. His performance gave us one of the best fictional villains of all time.
