Who else watched House of Mouse just for the dinner theater scenes and not for the Mickey Mouse shorts?

The shorts always felt like filler to me (though they were quality filler, I'll admit). Seeing all the Disney characters interact was the main draw, imo.

Why don't kids channels do more crossovers with their cartoon characters in bumpers and stuff. They used to do it all the time (CN City, Nickelodeon had some games and block intros too, previously mentioned House of Mouse)? I would actually watch TV if they had cool bumpers but the closest we get is the cringy child actors hanging out on Nick or Disney Channel sometimes

This. I almost watched the Hall of Game Awards because I thought it would have more like this.

That's basically what they were, filler. Also repackaging the recent "Mickey Mouse works" cartoons.

American kids channels don't have enought different animated content to work with.
German kids channels have enought content but Germans can't animate and the content is from different creators, I don't think Dreamworks would like being crossed over with Spongebob or a French cartoon they propably never heard of before
The shorts suck, classic Disney style stuff only does one thing right, animation, looks fine but it's not funny at all, they never had the edge to be laugh out loud funny like WB cartoons among others

It's expensive and TV cartoons don't make as much of a return as they used to when stations have video games, streaming, and YouTube to compete with.
I mean, video games have gotten to a point in the last six years where they just don't fucking end. You can buy your kid one copy of Minecraft and that'll keep them entertained for half the year.
We still get some stuff. Phineas and Ferb Meet the Avengers. Uncle Grandpa Helps Steven Universe. PPG vs TTG. I do wish we had gotten some 1-minute short where Star meets Wander and Penn Zero.

The only current channel doing that is CN, but only in Latin America and Asia.

The last time CN USA did something like this was back at their 20th anniversary.

Don't forget Kingdom Hearts, although to be fair that one's a video game.

And it's power rangers level of suck... with anime.
I watched it so I could see daisy's ass
