If you're looking for lore, but want it specifically to one character you're gonna have to go to individually owned comic properties. Most companies have a shared universe when it comes to capes, not just the Big Two.

I don't mind overlap, what I'm saying is that there has to be a lot of lore SPECIFIC to that character. Green lantern has lore that doesn't have much to do with most other heroes in DCU as an example.

The kind of setting your asking for isn't really a strong suite for modern comics, what with how they swap writers that often disregard what some of their past co-workers have done.

I'd go for manga like Vinland Saga or Ajin but if you really need it in comic form, Hellboy is my first choice followed by Judge Dredd.
