I guess to me it felt natural that Star would ultimately screw everything up for everyone through taking the NOT ALL PRINCESSES thing too far, and they'd sort of already emphasized the keeping secrets aspect for a while before that episode.

Though I actually thought Face the Music was done better than Starcrushed overall, in that both Moon and Star doing stuff related to Mewni royalty/loss of the spellbook (with both being unaware of the other) fit together in a single episode better than Star's sad party drama on Earth/Toffee kills a bunch of demigods. Both episodes were good though.

In fairness, I came up with the same conclusion when I saw them hugging for 10 seconds in the first episode.

And guess what? Both me and Rubee are right. I also agree with the conclusion because Ruberiot is perceptive enough to know Star's crush but he hasn't known her long enough to know he's not supposed to state the obvious.
