I liked the one proposal in another thread that the Scotsman ghosts his way past Ashi's dark shell, speaks to her directly, and motivates her to wrest some control back from Aku.

Can someone tell me why Jack looks so weird? I haven't watched the new season yet and don't really mind spoilers, but from the trailer a few months ago, Jack still looked the same way he always did, even his ghost version, and even with the beard I could still see his same face under it, but when he finally loses the beard, his face looks completely different? What's up with that?

They changed his model to look more "heroic", that's it.

Its because they made his facial lines skin color instead of black, took out the black outlines of his eyes, and added corners to his face

They eliminated some outlines that they can now that the tech supports it, most prominent is the eye outlines.

They also made his jaw a more complex shape, which makes his face look narrower.
