Superman is DC's primary protagonist, despite there being a myriad of prominent characters.
When it comes to Marvel, though, I can't figure out if their 'main character' would be Captain America or Mr. Fantastic. Pre-MCU of course. Post, I'd say that belongs to Cap.
What do you guys think?
SPIDER MAN?????????????

Unless you define your criteria better, it's Spider-Man.
>>92359273
It's Superman AND Batman
As for Marvel it's Spiderman obviously and then the Fantastic Four
>Superman is DC's primary protagonist
Wrong.
>>92359273
spider-man, you dumbshit

Captain America came first and is definitely on better standing than Fantastic Four in the comics and movies.
Spiderman is their Batman in terms of everything they're capable of doing for their publications with marketing, movies, comics, etc.

>Superman is DC's primary protagonist,
lol

He's not wrong. Superman's the primary protagonist. It's all about him being the most known, important and lived superhero in the world as well as the most powerful. He always gets the happy endings and the universe pretty much revolve around him.
Batman's just more popular, though. Like, he's the Wolverine and Deadpool of DC.

Spider-Man.
>>92360376
In that case Marvel doesn't really have one
Except Fantastic Four when they're fight space villians
>>92359273
Wolverine.
>>92359273
It's Spider-man, you colossal idiot.
>>92359782
>Captain America came first
If we're going by "who appeared first" then it's either Namor or the Human Torch. Most people don't really give a shit about Timely Comics as anything more than a curiosity, and Captain America didn't make his Marvel debut until after Spider-man and the Fantastic Four.

Batman for DC and Spider-Man for Marvel.
How is there even any question about this?
It's obviously Spider-Man. Like come on man.

It WAS.
Until Marvel wanted the movie rights back.
