Not sure how many people are aware of Aaron Springer's surreal cartoon coming in three weeks, but I fear that it'll automatically be poorly received due to the protagonist's hideous design. So hideous, in fact, that even I might not be able to handle how punchable Billy looks.

Clarence and Uncle Grandpa also face this issue, but both of their titular protagonists still have some charm to their respective designs. I can't exactly explain it myself, but is anyone else willing to elaborate on what exactly makes Clarence Wendle such an engaging main character that can be cute, silly, and strangely relatable?

in regards to Dillis wendle's actions. i can actually relate twice. grandmother had undiagnosed mental problems (they never had her checked) near the end of her life and mother succumbed to complications to breast cancer (it spread to her brain).

It started out sluggish but really did pick up and turn into one of the best slice-of-life cartoons on TV.

Things like Harvey Beaks and We Bare Bears tried to do slice of life but were so boring about it. But Clarence managed to make me give a shit about Jeff panicking over getting "average" on a test" or Clarence missing out on recess.

The guest animated sequence where they're sleep deprived was amazing.

They're just usually really fun.
Except the Christmas one and that's primarily because they made an even worse Belson and went for the whole abandonment issues thing.
