The irony here that Marvel doesn't comprehend is that they want their own Wonder Woman icon, and then they dress her in a man's superhero costume. And that's what this is: it's not unisex, it's masculine in design, with panels mimicking a man's musculature and a fit made to compress or erase Carol's original cup size to the point of appearing like just very well developed pecs.
The sash is literally the only feminine element of the entire uniform, and now looks out of place on an otherwise formal, masculine, body hiding outfit.

Comic books are IP farms for the respective movie studios holding the character rights. The only expected synergy here is that a successful movie means more licensing cash to keep the comic book division alive. Long-term book sale improvements are probably more likely with properties in multiple films like Avengers characters.

The movies don't exist to prop up book sales and they aren't positioned to do so. On top of this, the Carol Danvers in the movies is probably not going to be as messed up and bloodthirsty as her comic book counterpart is, so that means either moviegoers won't like comic Carol or comic Carol will be nerfed to match. Spoilers: it's usually the latter (see GotG).

Most Marvel female characters that are somewhat fleshed out in the comics and that the normies would recognize were given away to other studios - the X-Ladies, like Storm or Jean, Sue Richards, the works. The closest one would be She-Hulk, but I'm pretty sure she's part of that legal entanglement with Universal the same as He-Hulk is.
The other reason is, of course, the ongoing feud between Marvel and DC over the series title "Captain Marvel". DC might've gave up on tht with n52, but Marvel's not gonna risk it - at least not until the movie comes out and the masses start associating Captain Marvel with Marvel and Marvel only.
