That's... not how the sliding timescale works. It would have been destroyed around 2013-2014 in the current timeline.

Hey.. It's been destroyed enough that it's probably still true.

But it's weird to keep that year considering Bling and Quentin were students before that time, it's been 10 years and they're still in high school
>>

I grew up on the X-Men cartoon but it was actually X-Men 2099 that got me hooked on comics. Absolutely loved Blood Hawk, Halloween Jack, La Lunatica, and Skullfire.

That series did 90's edge well and I loved the art until Ron Lim left and it got generic looking. It's also pretty rare to see an environmentalist hero/terrorist or an actual dominatrix muscle girl hero/villain. Those two really stood out to me, I've not encountered many like them since.
>>
>>92279438
If I wrote at Marvel, I would totally start using the Sliding Timescale to bring in some of 2099 characters into current continuity, Brimstone Love and La Lunatica were already ageless in 2099, no reason there couldn't be an analog in 2017.

When will they dump the damn kid she stole? Who in their right mind thought making a character choose to be a single mother would make her responsible? It's the exact opposite. You're giving the a shitty life just because you think you deserve a kid. They deserve two parents. And it doesn't help that Jubilee is a bloodsucking monster now and still hangs around people whose house is routinely blown up and are attacked by genocidal maniacs. If she really cared about the baby, she'd put him up for adoption.

I just recently started reading X-Men from the beginning, and I'm digging it a lot. I'm on issue #165 now.
I only have stuff from 1966-1987 though, and I was excited mostly about the 90's comics, since it was the cartoon that got me interested in reading it.

one horned guy is morph?
>>
>>92280552
he's copying Nature Girl's appearance, he doesn't have full control of his shapeshifting ability, and he has subconscious ability to shift his appearance to someone recognizable to whose ever looking at him. He's only been able to control the power and turn to a specific person with Emma Frost psychically "Steering the Wheel"

Morph is kinda like an Asari in Mass Effect, if you wanted to see a hot asian chick Morph's head would appear to you as a hot asian chick.
>>
Isn't Jubilee a vampire
>>
>>92280764
Not quite. He doesn't exactly turn into someone recognizable.

He turns into the people around him. Or at least something similar to them.

So unless you were a hot Asian chick, that's not what he'd turn into

Marvel isn't interested in anyone applying for a job in the industry. The only way to get hired is for them to notice and want you somehow, or for a friend who is already working at Marvel to help you. So of course they are chasing after what few people in the industry are shit enough to work for Marvel in a field of artists who've already made it in the industry to some degree, and occasionally hiring the talent-less friends of insiders.

To other books.Right now X-Books have the lowest art quality out of Marvel, but the other books still have standby artists like Del Mundo, Acuna, Noto, etc. Shalvey's still doing covers, and Larraz's debut on Uncanny Avengers was solid.

It was.

>>92284982
It was more of a Rogue book than an X-Book though. Even though the book had plenty of X-material it still came off as having more of an Avengers slant. I don't think the Terrigen serum bit had any payoff, and Shaw/Toad vanished after the Hand issues.

"Best X-Book in years" is also pretty debatable considering how crowded the field has been over the past decade.

I don't mind the face at all here >>92270100 as a comparison. That's just a top down angle. But the grass there, I think you can see the same kinda issue as your have with the first face.

I still think this is the most interesting of the new X-books, so 3 issue rule at least. The art's not unreadable for me but I do think the choices of shot are kinda strange.

It's not the coloring. It's the unnecessary fish eye lens perspectives. It doesn't serve the story going wildly from one angle to another. It's fine in illustrations, which is what they normally seem to do. It might look cooler in fight scenes?

Agreed. They could just have her mother Gabby. That would be way cuter than a boring baby, would help free up Laura who can't possibly know how to help Gabby have a normalish life immensely, and would give us Laura and Jubilee buddy adventures which really had both characters at their most lovable. Also having a vampire raise a super soldier kid is a lot less fucked up because the kid can actually defend herself to some extent, and already understands people like Jubilee who have to fear themselves, what with being a clone of a clone of Wolverine.
>>92279931
And can you imagine how pissed off people would be over anything getting built on Central Park? That's just so selfish and fucked up.
>>
>>92287906
It really is frustrating. It's like they think the way to do a fan favorite character well is to remove all obstacles and struggle and just go 'hey look how perfect they are'.
>>
>>92285405
No. Bendis actually wrote the team featured in this book well, believe it or not. Fiffe on the other hand clearly hadn't read a single comic featuring any of them.
>>
>>92279438
X-Men 2099 is great because it's not even really a team book. I mean the "team" breaks up fairly quickly and it just becomes each one doing their own thing before everything eventually manages to work its way back for the finale.

It's basically just a group of outcasts trying to find some level of semblance and safety in a world that's gone to shit and I love the post-apocalyptic feel of the Southwest.

If anyone gave a shit about Jubilee's character, any given appearance by her would be almost completely focused on her struggles as a vampire, like in Jubilee/Wolverine or her appearance in the previous X-23 book.

Why on earth would Jubilee get a kid when she is one bad day or paper cut away from eating the thing?

I'm assuming you mean anyone at Marvel, because I'm sure I'm not the only fan who cares. This shit is the reason I just can't get back into Marvel and part of why I cancelled my online subscription. >>

>>92295937
The only reason the vampire thing hasn't been done away with is because Marvel's so obstinate about not repowering de-powered mutants. Secret Wars gave them the perfect chance to pick and choose what ones had their powers again and nothing changed.

Jubilee being a vampire is really fucking stupid, has brought about no good stories (I don't think Wolverine/Jubilee is amazing) and really has been nothing but an albatross around the character's neck because every appearance is just marked by screeching about how "why she x and why she not y" or whatever the fuck. It's awful and ideally should never have happened in the first place (same with her being depowered in general) but it did and should've been done away with a long time ago in favor of repowering her.
>>
>>92299607
The vampire story never should have happened in the first place but she was great with Laura in the X-23 book, and part of why they were so good together was because of the complexity of their relationship to Wolverine and the nature of their respective 'bloodlusts' being different and how they perceived each other as a result. It was actually really good when written well.

Think of it this way... all her teen and adult life Jubilee was this street level hero by choice because even after she learned that her powers could be deadly she didn't have it in her to harm people. This contrast with Wolverine wanting to resort to violence as a solution all the time and needing to learn to control that part of him was why she was so lovable as his side kick. Then she gets this bloodlust forced on her. changed into this monster and for the first time she knows what Wolverine felt like first hand. How is that not compelling?

I'm pretty sure Avengers Mansion was also rebuilt there because nobody understood that it's actually a real building, the Henry Clay Frick House on Fifth, overlooking the park with its own gardens, not actually inside the park.
