I have a soft spot for the Spidey stories when he has the cosmic power there for a while. Especially Spider-Man vs The Hulk.

Larsen ASM has aged better, imo.

There are bad parts of it (Judas Traveler), awful (Maximum Clonage) as well as some good ones (Ben vs Venom).
Even some excellent stories (Lost Years).
I however admit that perception may be colored by my love of the Scarlet Spider (2012) series: I love its setting in Houston, Kaine as a violent but very sympathetic protagonist (and far from any clone-related plot) and everything to do with Aracely (her strange powers, relationship with grump Kaine, etc).

It's a roller coaster in regard to quality, but I feel it is worth it in the end - the scruffy look of Ben and his motorcycle alone would be enough but there are other things.
Or at least you could say it is way more enjoyable with hindsight and the sure knowledge Peter won't be replaced any time soon.

Spidey looks good since he wears a mask, but most characters look like bug eyed monstrosities in that period.
"The Child Within" in The Spectacular Spider-Man 178-183. I always loved reading this one. It's about the lesser-known villain Vermin, his past, and Harry's return as the Green Goblin and he f*ucks Peter up.
