I guess Gotham's Riddler is good enough...

Good, that is not what the Riddler is about.
Fuck the Arkham games.
I'M LOOKING OVER

I get the point of this, but the Joker was killing people from the get-go.

Well you missed the one that forced Batman to perform a tracheotomy on an infant.
He shoved a ping pong ball in a baby's throat.

Riddler got a lot more obsessed with death along with the other Rogues as well as coupling it with riddles and puzzles to amp up the consequences way before Arkham. Even his own death wasn't off the table when it came to P O E T R Y.

Shut the fuck up, Riddler did that shit in his first appearance, believe it or not. With all due respect to Neil Gaiman, "When Is A Door Not A Door?" has never really sat well for me because it changes him into the embodiment of the good ol' days, when even in the "camp" 60s show he used death traps and made it clear he wanted to outwit and MURDER Batman and Robin. And that would be fine if it were just the one story, but there's too many people, like you, who want to retroactively apply this interpretation to the character as though it were the one true definitive take.

To be fair, that was temporary demonic possession.

That's what he originally did, faggot

This one made me sad
