Because it's part of what Peter loved before getting into space, but bear in mind this is also powered up by everything that Star-Lord had loved and cared for, which let's be fair,
as much animey it was, it felt more "real"
due to how it was presented.

Which is different from what happened with Superman vs Zod, which was... too comic-like it ended being less than surprising?

The Smallville fight scene in MoS is the BEST Super human fight. Period. Full stop.

They may be better karate and wirefu fight scenes. They may even be better action scenes.

But no other fight gives such a sense of raw power and destructive capabilities. You feel the strength of every punch, you see pavement crack and the world shake as titans throw down.

I'm not even a MoS fan but I could watch that fight a million times.

>>

>but at the back of your mind there's that nagging feeling that someone should stop this destruction an save whoever could be in danger as a result of this fight.

Except fighting them IS saving people, by keeping their focus on him and so they don't start blitz attacking civilians and he did try and move the fight elsewhere once in pic related and later he punched Non into the train yard which is not ideal but still better then main street.

Yes and he moves faster then a bullet, he could kill 100 people in under a minute if Superman stops fighting to save individuals.
Breaking off from Zod would be the most negligent fucking thing on the face of the earth.
>>
>>92175752
works in context well enough.

its already established Peter is stuck on pop culture from the late 70's, early 80's from when he was taken from Earth.

then, earlier in the show, he outright talks about using Ego's world building powers to "make giant statues of pacman, and other weird shit. Like really weird shit."

so, then a direct callback to that, when he does get to use Egos earthbending himself. He makes Pacman.

Quill said in his first scene with Ego that he was going to make a giant Pacman statue and "I'm going to make some weird shit"

So during the course of the fight Ego, being an endless narcissist throws a giant version of himself, and Quill embodying his connection to the 80's pop culture, his childhood and the his time on Earth spent with his mom, chose the form of Pacman.

This wasn't the whole fight, just one of the clashes.

This movie was all about developing his character, what are you talking about? He doesn't even go full 80s nostalgia until he's around his dad trying to recapture the magic of his youth. Before that he gets embarrassed about his drunken Hasselhoff story.

I mean the end of this movie is him committing patricide and accepting his death.
>>
>>92178187
This is wrong.
You're only saying that because much like a lot of the other "omg I'm such a nerd! I love marvel [movies]!" people your favourite MCU movie is the one that is the freshest in your head.
You'll be humming the same song come Spider-man

Why are all MCU movies so cringey? DCEU movies may drop the ball sometimes, but I have never physically cringed at one. This moment almost made me want to walk out of the movie cause I felt embaressed for the director

Kylo Ren is a good villain though.

Someone who is conflicted by the force like many other Star Wars characters, but his problem is that the force is pulling him to the light when he wants to go to the dark.

There's more to him than there is to Sheev, who is basically cartoonishly evil. And I say that as the biggest Sheevfag ever. Ian McDiarmid is a treasure.

I'm not saying he's better than Palpy, and I'm not saying TFA is a good film, but Kylo Ren is not a bad part of it.

Pretty sure at the time England was waging an economic civil war against any region that thought free milk for primary school children was okay, on the basis that said ideology was dangerously left leaning.

GotG, because it had actual emotional impact, and there was a sense of peril.

The stakes were all the planets Ego had seeded, the weight was that this was his fucking dad who had done it, and had killed his mother and countless siblings in the process.

Having limbs fly off "just like in my gook shows" because its cool xD wouldn't add to that.

Making a film is like mixing an album. Violence, much like a guitar is a great instrument to use, but you don't want to spoil what you've got by turning the volume way up and over using it to the point where everything else is weakened by comparison.

wanna know why new superman design looks like edgy trash? because its afraid of showing a man wearing his underpants and a fucking towel on his back to the public.

wanna fucking know why when hollywood tries to adapt japanese style it looks like shit? because is when they try to change a style into theirs that their retarded mindset shows ruining everything they touch.

outside of B-horror movies, wich btw are not afraid of looking retarded either, everything that comes from hollywood is ridiculous trash.

I dunno why, but whoever voiced Yondu got a 10/10 in the latinamerican dub, same with Mantis, Ego, Rocket and Gamora (which in the first movie sounded way too monotone, I guess this being an actual emotional trip let her open up in her acting)

Those fucking lines from Yondu to Star-Lord at the end, man.

That'd be the one that spent half the fight scenes not focusing on the action and rather on jokes like Groot dancing or trying to keep Groot from pressing the wrong button or referencing arcade games.

I mean really all the action scenes to promote in GOTG2 it fucking ain't the final fight.
It's the Rocket trap fight scene or the arrow slaughter scene.

The film crew traditionally are broken up after filming and re-hired when a new film starts. But for Marvel Studios, they are basically permanent employees, and gets moved to a new project immediately after the previous one wraps up. From what I hear it is a sweet gig, as it is career stability.

That's because Peter and Gamora agreed beforehand that "if he turned out to be evil, we will just kill him".

Killing Ego was always on the cards from the second he got to the planet. And that was why he didn't have to angst over it. The decision was made a hour ago.

Rocket's problem is that he is an emotional wreck with a horrific past, mostly likely constant pain and no knowege of how to socialize. He gets by as a vicious little hitman of a creature with programmed-in skills but is terrified of letting people get too close. After the events of this movie he seems to be opening up a bit and I wouldn't be surprised if he turns clingy and protective in the next one.

Personally I think the movie could have done with a few less jokes. I mean it handles the humor much better than most MCU movie, but just a few too many times feeling the need to go for the joke. Like that running gag of a fruit not being ripe or spending that much time on Tazerface's name.

James Gunn was an independent filmmaker before getting big with Guardians, while Zack started off with music videos before getting into WB.
Gunn cut his teeth on Troma films, and had to develop a style and get really good at it before moving on. Here's one of his first big projects, really good movie. Bookmark it.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QI3a_Gc9ddo
Guardians' emotional core is enhanced by Gunn being able to balance tonal shifts really well. Super is an excellent example of this. Life can be hilarious and tragic in quick succession, and Gunn being able to adapt this is reflected by his banter and characters, feeling more realistic and understandable than you would expect.

It is so far out that it is impossible to know if there would be a scheduling conflict. The intent is to use them as side characters, but because side characters get paid less they don't get preferential listing. For example some Nova Corps leaders are suppose to cameo in GotG2 but they ended up not in it because of scheduling conflicts.
