Allow me to go full sperg/autist here but I could never get into the Avatar series because of one thing; Fire bending does not make sense. All the other styles are limited in some way, water benders need liquids nearby by to bend, earth benders need to be near earth, air benders need the air. Fire benders? Whats disappointing is that it could have been fixed by having fire benders carry flint rings they would strike against their armor and/or ground to ignite sparks which they then bend into fire making for a more involved fighting style. Could even work into the whole 'anger channeling the fire' idea by the benders often burning or striking themselves when creating sparks fueling their anger or make the flint rings extremely difficult to acquire so every time a fire bender uses them they know their ring is diminishing making them angrier.

They will just reblog the pirated page and think mission accomplished. They've raised awareness and somehow raised the sales numbers just by blogging about how brave the comic is or something.

Plenty of people pirate comics in general but the LGBT audience is so damn small they really do need every single LGBT person buying stuff to sustain anything. It's a tiny niche audience in an already niche market that most people don't give a shit about. So above all else the quality of the book needs to take priority. Fire bending is really underpowered when you think about it. They got Fire and lighting, both of which can be deflected easily. Bloodbending is probably the most overpowered, but I've never understood why air benders don't make vacuums. You only need to have a limb inside that vacuum and you would instantly die as your blood would start to boil. Boiling blood is generally not really healthy. It's based on some eastern cultural idea of what fire is. In the show they explain that fire bending is more like chi bending - drawing from and using the energy from within oneself.

This is why fire benders can also use lightning. It's not because lightning is supposed to be a type of fire in the Avatar world, its because it's another way to manifest one's energy.
