Let's read an overlooked Image Comics miniseries from 2014 called "The Field".
This comic is... Well, you're probably either going to think it's unreadable shit or absolutely love it. Either way, it's completely maniacal and I don't quite know how to describe it.
Strap in, because things are about to get seriously fucknuts.
This is...

loving it so far

How far have you read?
>>92091952
Was okay. Felt like the setup to a much more ambitious story, but I guess you can only take these things so far.

Sure, why the fuck not
Oh, I really liked it, but I feel it should have been much longer and more fleshed out.
Not enough time to show how fucked up Christian can be, no explanation to how he knows Grant or how he found out in the first place. There is no reason for him saying the loop keeps getting shorter if it's not going to be fleshed out. Why does the woman at the diner even care about cleaning. Why does he spawn only with underwear and on a field, where does the phone come from and who does it belong to. Why does he lose his memory every time the loop happens.
If the woman and kid were already murdered once by Christian in the same exact way as the flashback implies, why does she say the exact same thing and asks to help Christian? Why does the opening flashback show the Smoke Eaters saying the exact same thing before the looping at the end? Who gets to keep their memories and who doesn't? If Christian was an honest to god person before the looping started, why does he have a gun and a fuckton of ammo when he finds Grant?

The initial pages reminded me of Dark City. Haven't finished but I'm guesing they're entities in some kind of video game reality. Slightly like the that storytime about jumping pillars a few days back.

>that storytime about jumping pillars a few days back
Link to it? It sounds interesting.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Science_(comics)
>creator-owned American comic book series by Rick Remender and Italian artist Matteo Scalera. Image Comics released the first issue in November 2013. The story follows Grant McKay, an ex-member of the Anarchist Order of Scientists, and his team as they are thrown through dimensional barriers to alien worlds while they try to repair the Pillar and return home.
It has some twists.

>>92095840
well that sounds... odd
cant really add anything that hasn't already been said, all the car-chase stuffs kinda fun, the worlds a little nuts, but none of the setups really established with all that shit happening before grant wakes up, and none of its really paid off, just infinite loop
>>92096861
Not that, anon, but it's a must read if you're into sci fi.
>>92089772
Hmmm. Dude in tighty whities isn't my idea of a strong opener, I'm willing to trust you OP because I want some fucknuts in my life righ tnow.
>>92097588
The biggest shortcoming is all the unanswered questions. The biggest strength is the cool premise.
>>92094173
All of this and wouldnt they remember getting killed?
>>92101176
I wonder if the people who die don't remember the previous loop, but the people who live still remember it.
>>92092275
It's called a bat'leth.
>>92090448
Where are these magical bullets coming from??
>>92089762
Yup, unreadable shit.
bumping for others
>>92091581
Fun fact, during a time loop, mirrors reflect non mirror images!
This is indeed fucked up!
Thanks OP, really like it!
Bump for interest
This was... eeh.
It was interesting, but it feels like a story written on an "impulse", going along with the flow, throwing shit sick at the wall without thinking too hard about anything.
Anon here says it best >>92094173
too many things that don't make sense. Why do only certain people remember and understand what's going on?
bumpin
thanks anon. kind of predictable how it was going to end once they mentioned a time loop, and there was a lot of shit left unexplained, but it was a fun read. i dig the art style too
