Then there'd be another fucking character in her place because the entire point of Jack's character arc is that his stoicism and self imposed martyrdom is what caused him to fall. That while he was chosen to carry the sword and defeat Aku, they never said he had to do it all by himself. Even the fucking Gods didn't fight the Primordial Evil by themselves, there were 3 OF THEM needed to overcome it so why's Jack arrogant enough to think he has to do everything himself alone.

You delete Ashi and you lose the the entire guiding arc for Jack's development.

I like Aishi though

I like Ashi more and more with every passing episode.

She has great chemistry with Jack.

I do think that the season would've benefitted from another 5 episodes, though.

Jack rationalizes killing the sisters and does so with the show's 'approval', yet the goats are killed in self-defense too and he lost his sword.

Amazing, finally some screen time for Jack in his own show

Not especially good. She's a fine addition, but from the moment they left the gigantic creature and she resigned from killing him the writing is very much off course imo.

All the pieces were there. Jack resolved to kill humans who made the choice to seek to kill him, but it turns out Daughters of Aku did not choose anything, they were horribly manipulated. It should have been the last straw for Jack - he runs away and withers by himself, completely lost, gone for say 2 episodes.

We then focus on the girl - she doesn't just turn into a normal human being instantly ffs, it completely undermines the upbringing he wen't to to begin with. She goes back to the cult base, but turns back and goes her own way. She sees the world for what it is with her own eyes. Her reaction to plundered villages is first disdain for their weakness, but also a growing tint of empathy. She travels for years, undergoes a transformation, then seeks Jack and shows him he was in fact making a positive impact upon the world despite his failures.

Instead we got a mess. Shame, the pieces were there.

The gods didn't come down and say "you have killed these goats now you no longer are worthy of the sword", Aku destroying the last gate, combined with the killing of the goats made Jack lose faith in his purpose and thus lose the right to hold the sword.

The goats were innocent in Jack's eyes because they had been tainted by Aku's magic and forced to fight him. And not only that, but the fact that Jack resorted to brute force out of rage when he would have usually found a different way around it. As far as he knew, The Daughters of Aku were there by their own will, he even gave them the option to leave twice. He still felt guilty after killing them if the hallucination he had with the crows yelling at him "murderer" are anything to go by.
He just didn't realize that both the goats and the daughters of Aku had been tainted by Aku's influence one way or another.

I like ashi, but no ashi would mean better episode pacing because there would be no character arc for her, so I'd be happy, because the recent few episodes had really bad pacing problems

Not sure if we're on the same page. He did care about killing human beings, but 'resolved' that (father flashback etc.) The revelation that the assassin women did not have in fact any choice should have been huge - it renders his answer nigh worthless. This is enough to lead him to over the edge, perhaps even sudoku. No blue people needed, it was unnecessary meandering, bloating the story.

More importantly, it leaves time to flesh Ashi's story. I think Jack "revealing the truth" about the world was badly done. He leads her to some tree - did they travel there? Did they just happen to be nearby? The world felt awfully small to me. Then a silly scene with the bureaucrat and a bandit - not at all subtle. Finally some village destroyed and Ashi saying she's seen enough - rather sensitive for someone who just a moment earlier took the death of her sisters, with whom she endured all the hardships of the training, in a stroll.

I am being a bit harsh/unfair. I do think that her on her own, traveling and seeing the state of the world and the impact Jack had would be a lot better tho. She'd be slowly shedding the training and embracing the good heart beaten out of her, then finally a rebirth and a meeting with the samurai again.
Few words would be needed - a long montage of her in locations from the past seasons, with known characters/peoples Jack helped. There was a tint of that in the show, but I think it was too heavy handed. You only need to establish once that those whom Jack helped are everywhere, for the new viewers.
