What does /co/ think of Clay?
I didn't personally care for him at all. I thought the other three was interesting, but Clay was just a background character used as a plot device.
>>91991247
You're right
He was just there
>>91991247
Being from Georgia, I pretty much automatically hate any character with a prominent Southern accent. Very few people in the South actually talk like that anymore, and most that do are very old. It's just really cringey to hear that fake ass accent.
>>91991247
thought he could have been utilized a bit better, but yeah he's pretty one note, didnt hate him though, he was just sort of 'there'
>>91991247
What in tarnation
>>91991296
All four of them were walking caricatures with comically exaggerated accents.
He was OK, but never did anything that really made him stand out.
>>91991372
True, but for some reason only exaggerated Southern accents make me cringe.
>>91991247
I live for the blond bara hunks of the group
>>91991296It reminds me of a character in a certain show.
>>91991247
He had a few episodes.
Like the one with his sister
>>91991296
>Very few people in the South actually talk like that anymore
Come to North Carolina man. Even in big cities like Charlotte, white people still talk with a deep southern accent.
>>91991296
I live in Texas and while a lot of people don't have accents, on a daily basis I run into people with heavy accents.
>>91991296
>Very few people in the South actually talk like that anymore
I live in Texas, the only people that talk like that are from East or West Texas.
>>91991247
Clay was emotionally stable, not dumb, and dependable fellow in the show. So naturally he got overshadowed. He's a darn nice guy though and I'd certainly want to be friends with him.
>>91991247
wut in tarnation
>>91991296
Bet you're some Atlanta city slicker.
>>91991247
I liked that the big tough Texas cowboy character used Tai Chi as his primary style
>>91991247
Hey, /co/, what am I?
>>91991296
>Very few people in the South actually talk like that
You Have to Live in the Atlanta
I live in north Georgia and I run into people all the time with southern accents
>>91993023
>>91993643
Not quite smug enough.
>>91991296
have you even been to Alabama or Mississippi?
Clay was underused, I feel.
I remember that in one of the very first episodes they demonstrate how no-bullshit he is by having him bypass the obstacle course and just grab the prize by going around, and master Fung said it was 'kay
It'd be nice if he did more of that stuff, but overall he was the straigth man too much. Overshadowed but not bad
>>91991296
I knew a kid named Clay back in middle school who had a southern accent. I live in Florida btw
>>91992066That show's meant to be set in the vague early 1920s, though, culturally and tech-wise.
>>91991247
He's everything I hate about Western character tropes and his design makes me cringe
>>91992474
Actually I've been living there for the past 11 years.
>>91993188
Guilty as charged, I grew up in the suburbs around Atlanta. Asheville resident now so I'm still a city slicker.
>>91993689
Can't say I have. I've been all over the Carolinas and parts of Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, and Virginia.
>>91991296
I've also only heard the southern accent from older people, however I've never been to the rural areas though.
>>91994102
doesnt the fire one have a fucking cell phone ?
>>91998340
I'm talking about the show I assumed he was talking about, not Xiaolin Showdown. And I meant vague early 1900s, not 1920s.
>>91995478
The shows main charector is an Asian monk who is tiny, bald, yellow and speaks in broken English. The Brazilian is a hot headed, Steet smart, cool guy.
