Aquamarine's design is kind of fun. She looks like a little bureaucracy fairy, except her gem is placed to look like a prison teardrop tattoo.

Topaz just seems like a generic "Big McLargeHuge" gem, except her weapon is one of those American Gladiators staves with the two cudgels on it.

Those designs are kind of uninspired, but I'll wait to see them in action before making a further judgment.

You know I hate to be one of those people who just dogpiles on whatever is fashionable to hate, but those gem look astronomically shitty.

They don't even have any bone structure, their posture is so stiff and atrocious, their design is bare-bones, and they're just fugly in general. If they hadn't put them in anime dress they'd look like they belong in one of those CGI cartoons for 3 year olds.

Jeez these designs are so bland, they look like something from an initial character draft. While their body designs are unique enough to be distinguished from the rest of the cast, the designs of their heads/faces are left wanting.
Topaz has a gung-ho military vibe but it's too muted. They should've been more creative with her hair, make it bigger and more trapezoidal. She's like Gile but without his recognizable flattop or Garnet without her square-fro.
For Aquamarine I say give her bangs with that short hair, deadpan eyes, or a cute button nose (optional). I know she has some sort of ribbon in her hair from the teasers, so make that more prominent as well. Since the show obviously takes some inspiration from anime, they should've made it show here.
