If batman immobilizes joker for good, there would be no more joker stories and joker makes dc comics a lot of money.

The line between paralyzed for life and dead is a lot thinner then you'd think, there's a good chance he'd kill Joker by accident if he tried that.

What about a story about how Joker fell off a ledge and lived but fucked up his body. Batman then takes Joker to a personal cell in the Batcave and takes care of him while he's stuck in a full bodycast?

It could be a horror story from Joker's point of view as Batman obsessively tries to force Joker to change his ways while he can't escape under Batman's watch.
