Is it safe to assume that /co/ is the biggest or most prominent place for cartoon discussion? Do cartoon creators know about us but are too disturbed to talk to us?
>>
>>91941499

A lot of them actually and probably posted here before. You'll be surprised

Don't forget /v/, either. Kamiya came in 2013, and answered questions.
After that, he posted screencaps of it to twitter. You can still find them if you dig.
>>
>>91941499
I'm not sure, but people here said that Steven Universe's creator Rebecca Sugar used to be a regular of /co/.

What I'm sure of is that a lot of webcomic creators visit this board as well, the anonymity helps disguise themselves as nobodies and promote their comics with a thread.
>>
>>91943414
Notch used to post there iirc as well, before moving on to reddit.
>>
>>91943993
Can't blame him, Reddit is a much better platform for AMAs and recognition than 4chan, even though redditors are cancerous heeps of shit.
>>
>>91943357
I bet hes the one posting Reddit and Memey threads on /tv/

Question 1: It's a good place for cartoon discussion, and a place to brainstorm along with meeting people. Aka, its the perfect networking place for current and upcoming artists.
Question 2: A surprisingly large portion of modern cartoonists, voice actors, web comic/traditional/modern artists, show directors, studio executives, were once or still currently are part of the /co/ community.

You just have to lurk and get to know people here while being friendly and having something to bring to the table to really see behind the veil of anonymity.
>>
>>91946125

That's cool
>>
>>91941499
>Do cartoon creators know about us but are too disturbed to talk to us?
Heaps of creators have come to /co/ at some point in time. Many of them are friendly and willing to talk, but a lot of them won't admit it because 4chan has such a bad reputation.

Especially webcomics, where just about anyone who is even vaguely popular has dropped by at least once

One of the original welcome messages in Minecraft was "Woo, /v/!", Notch was originally extremely active there but after the board started to get more critical of his development practices he left.

Also, a number of now-popular cartoon and comic creators not only posted on 4chan, but started out as drawfags here. Wouldn't be surprised if a lot of them still lurked but less openly than they used to.
>>
>>91941499
All sorts of people from the industry browse here. I know for a fact Zone does.

You would have to be retarded to actually reveal your identity on here though.

>>91949319

Yes, Sugar was a drawfag here before she made it in animation, and those EEnE drawings were specifically requests made on /co/. I don't have them on me but I'm sure that some anon does.

They got rid of MLP by making /mlp/
They got rid of most camwhores by making /soc/
They got rid of most political discussion by making /pol/. What remains is just shitposting
They got rid of goofy shitposters by making [s4s]
They got rid of the dumb shit by making /trash/

Effectively, they removed or gave alternatives to a big portion of it's posting base

/b/ is the same threads repeated over and over, every single day without anything new

>trap thread(s)
>fur thread(s)
>loli thread
>shota thread
>generic porn thread(s)
>cringe thread
>r34 thread
>you laugh you lose thread
>flavour of the day politics thread

>cuckolding/BLACKED thread(s) this one is kinda interesting, because use of namesync reveals there are a few posters who constantly start these threads. Multiple threads up at the same time. It's like a really long-term invasion by people who seem to think /b/ is still the centre of 4chan

Jo is completely wasted potential, she had a ton of momentum after Grimes(the musician) praised her stuff and introduced her to a wider audience and then she made the awful decision of trying to be a storyboard artist which she is really bad at. She should have just became a designer or tried to be a better comic artist first to hone her storytelling and consistency skills.

It's good sometimes for some subs. It's a sub to sub, day to day thing.

Like the SU sub is mistly dicksucking unless the Crewniverse fucks up something fierce, so it's mostly for leaks, theories, and OC.

There's no real cartoon hub on Reddit, which is a real plus about /co/. Plus, it's Reddit, so 4chan is an automatic plus.

>>
>>91950297
No, it's really not. It's good for keeping tabs on your favourite games comics and stuff, and find out the most notable news about them, but as far as real discussion goes there is not much of it. The first posts usually get most votes and go to the top, all the rest are ignored. Comments are also strictly branched, so you can't say quote two different people from two different points in the thread, you can only reply to one guy and your post will only ever be seen below that guy's post.
Also, karmawhoring is not a joke. Because of it, a large amount of posts end up being puns, memes, or shitty jokes.

Generally speaking, I suggest you see Reddit as a place where you go to read news and see new fanart or shit like that, and comments are only a plus you lightly skim through.
