To take you seriously, most of the DC universe, at least the heavy hitters, are treated as a modern pantheon, and as a modern take on mythology. That (in addition to the legacy aspect and the well developed and interconnected multiverse) are the distinctions between the DC comic canon and anything else, by defunct companies or currently existing.

That was such a stupid issue.

Apollo's in Wonder Woman solo series wanted nothing to do with Diana and was pissed off that she was meddling in his plans to take up the Olympian crown because she was following Zeus' keikaku without realizing. Once Diana agreed to leave him alone he was all too happy to live her be.

Then in that issue of Superman/Wonder Woman he shows up to bother Diana because she's dating an alien as if they were close or he had any interest in her personal life. Not only that but he as a fucking son god couldn't detect that Superman, a hero that was constantly in spotlight and had given dozens of interviews and statement about himself, soaked sun light and decided to blast Superman with sun rays all so Superman could get solar charged and punch his ass so Superman could be shown as protective and strong boyfriend. You even had Eris creaming her panties swooning over Superman's bravado and manliness.
