Though Superman fits in with people well because of how he was raised, he still has to make a conscious effort to fit in. Thus why people say he's a "god pretending to be mortal". Batman would be the inverse, as he's just a man who has to make a conscious effort to keep up with his Justice League buddies. Pushing away his friends and social life to become more like a god, or in his case a "legend".

Characters like Superman and Batman are infallible symbols of truth and justice, characters like Spider-Man and Wolverine are flawed everymans who get shit on constantly and struggle to do the right thing in life
