I can only speak for myself and I haven't seen the Simpsons in a long while, but Homer to me was a lot more funny than Lisa (important for cartoon), whereas Lisa seemed really preachy/sanctimonious. I guess that's the whole point of her character but its not fun to watch. At least when I was a kid I felt they were being too nice to Lisa compared to everyone else. Kinda weird. My opinion.

Simpson's always seemed to be pointing out or at least making fun of the crusading SJW crap YEARS before it was commonly seen by the rest of America. They were showing the ridiculousness of rewriting history to be more PC or handing out participation trophies in the mid 90's. At least 15 years before everyone else talked about it or even noticed it.

So I thought Lisa was meant to be their token pc liberal asshole who did things like ruin barbecues because it clashed with her ideals or fucked up founder's day parades just to have someone to point this shit out.

I didn't get that impression from classic episodes but it's.more noticeable in recent seasons. There are episodes where Lisa goes out of her way to be an uppity no-fun-allowed person. Same with Marge. Only difference is that Lisa acts like a know-it-all rubbing people's stupidity on their faces.

I hate them both, but at least Homer can be funny and has some genuinely sympathetic moments, even if he is a lazy, child abusing drunkard who makes less than modern minimum wage.

Lisa is just perpetually an annoying little know-it-all bitch with no redeeming qualities in comedy, insight or philosophy. She's just deadweight on what's supposed to be a comedic show, shoehorning in whatever societal lesson is hip that day that the writers think Fox's viewers just HAVE to be enlightened with.

That's generally the order of how people react to things badly. The higher up that list you go the more people will really dislike that character and want them off the show.
