And this right here is my actual issue. When SU draws some characters without curves (poil), I have no issue and do not see the problem. I know women come in many shapes and sizes, however, when you take a previously established character and remove her breasts, that's when I have an issue.

It wouldn't urk me as much is they weren't trying to, as you said, come off as progressive (by removing miss bellum, without knowing the fucking pun in her own name signifying that she's intelligent). The nuPPG continues to do shit that just makes themselves look incompetent and retarded.

You may not agree because this is totally subjective and in no way objective, but the design is a lot rounder and fits her personality. It is typically taught in animation course that breasts and hips are the easiest way to portray the female figure. They're both useful for instantly showing a character is female in multiple ways. It's been that way for generations.

But as more and more women take prominent roles in the industry, you'd expect this to happen more frequently because they're less likely to feel that mentality isn't for them. Just like how you have shows with a hundred body types for men and then just one for women. It was bound to happen eventually, but it's not like you can't still tell these characters are female.

The Adam's Apple is a minor detail, like crotch definition of the grooves at joints. Pectorals/breasts and butts/hips define the basic shape of a character. While individual breasts/buttocks don't need to be rendered, a good character designer will at least take the shape into consideration.

I don't get why people call Clarence's artstyle so offensively bad, its pretty decent and we've seen a lot worse shit in the years. The setting is incredibly colorful and lively to compliment the atmosphere. Characters come in a nice mixed bag of crude and ugly to nice and attractive. I feel people overblow it way too hard. A lot of women in that show are also underrated as fuck. Clarence is a real gem overall.

That mild-pudge hourglass shape is easy. Women have features that are both prominent and soft, which means you don't need much definition to make it look correct and it's obvious what you're drawing. Men, on the other hand, have more definition on their muscles EVERYWHERE.
