Unfortunately during interviews for the first TFU, the project lead Haden Blackman would say "we have Lucas approval so this story is canon at the highest levels!" because he assumed Lucas sitting in on meanings meant that the game was at the highest tier of canon, nevermind that Lucas sat in on meetings for almost all major projects.

But thanks to that, to this day people still think TFU is on the same level of canon as the movies, or that it's somehow exempted from the canon wipe a few years ago.
