I'm not a fan of that story. This isn't punishment, this is outright torture and I'd rather my heroes, especially Flash, pulling these stunts.

But as far as power feats go, if you could immobilize an actual speedster like this I'd think the same trick would work on Supes or any other metahuman.

That could be really cool. It could be like one of those samurai movie or spaghetti western scenes when a leaf drops to signal the start of the fight. Through the fight, the leaf or raindrop is falling on the left side while the fight takes place on the rest of the page and the leaf falls slower and slower. Superman gets back to earth after stopping a supernova from destroying a young planet, he has trouble tuning down his powers, after an incident in the artic he is leaking small solar flares and its clearly out of his mind, Luthor wants to force superman into crisis mode so he Fucks up in metropolis, so he fakes an incident with a recorded voice of Lois screaming, superman brakes free from the fortress solitude and is flying to metropolis at 900 times the speed of sound every second he gets faster, Bruce was flying to the north pole to help and indicates that with that emotional distress Clark may nuke all of the Easter side of America the stuff he built to help won't work is superman isn't calm, there's no time for his toys or to give notice to other heavy hitter, the last words Wally hears are "you have to stop him" via Martian manhunter.


Wally races and tries to reason with Clark with one blow he ends up in western Canada, he needs to stop him now. Instead if exchanging blows he creates a vortex around superman, running on the very air, superman flies directly to the speedforce where wally uses every trick he has to try to survive the now irrational superman leaking heat vision and solar flares into a giant vortex. Finally superman reaches a total vacuum of movement, flash gives him enough momentum so he can think, but not enough so his powers reactivate, superman stays there frozen in time as wally ask him about his first baseball game with his dad, finally he calms down and understand, since superman escaped to the moment they walk out of the speedforce only 15 seconds had happened.
