What are the best visual representations of each Batman character out there?

I personally love the Joker in TKJ, he looks amazing with the wide brim hat that he often has in the animated series as well. The only thing that could make this look better was if it had hints of the Dave Mckean version in "A Serious House On Serious Earth"

Bane's design combining his lucha mask with the Rises coat/vest is still my favorite Bane design. It's such a perfect fit for the character.

Second place is the Arkham Origins design pre-roidness.
>>
>>91722945
what do you think about the Bane in injustice 2 with the somewhat futuristic spandex?

But yes, the Bane you posted looks extremely good, perfect combination of form and function without becoming too obsessed with either
>>
Poison Ivy, Harley Quinn, Clayface, Mr. Freeze, and R'as al Ghul from BTAS are basically their definitive versions for me.

Joker is a toss-up between the "Killing Joke" comic and "The Dark Knight".

>>91722945 nails it for Bane.

Arkham Universe!Penguin is his best design ever.

Everyone else is a toss-up.

I remember liking the way he looked in Gotham Central.
>>
>>91723029
Too realistic. I like him to look mildly like a cartoon character.
>>
>>91723017
Arkansas universe had some really golden ones, everywhere from bane to riddler to firefly. Although Arkham also butchered some, like croc.
>>
>>91722994
Eh, it's ok, but it doesn't really look or feel like Bane. It feels more like a Mortal Kombat character.

We can all agree that Nolan's Scarecrow is easily the definitive version of this character, right?

They even ripped out the "Dr. Crane isnt here right now" out of the haunted knight and actually had it make sense
>>
>>91723185
One of the reasons that ive always liked Scarecrow is that it really makes sense for him to have an elaborate costume. Its believable that he would spend a ton of time designing it, unlike characters like Bane where he really should be mostly decked out in tacticool gear and a mask on top

>>91723185
It's a decent one but not the definitive.
Arkham Knight and TNBA had better designs for the character.
In fact the TNBA version of the character, although it had nothing to do with a scarecrow, is one of the reasons why writers started taking Scarecrow more seriously and it was the first to use the noose, which to this day is the only thing most Scarecrow designs have in common besides the head sack (which changes all the time).
>>
>>91723623
I felt like Arkham Knight was a bit too much.
I get what they were going for, with the needle gloves and all and it even makes sense as a weapon and I don't hate it. But it feels a bit too much.

Definitely not that one and its hideous giant neck.

Other than the neck is it quite good though.

>>91722829
When it comes to The Penguin there haven't really been many changes to the character since you can essentially boil down his history in two periods: pre-Batman Returns and post Batman Returns.

As a whole I think his best designs are the ones from Batman TAS and Penguin: Pain and Prejudice because they manage to carefully balance both versions in a way that they compliment each other while staying faithful to the character. After Batman Returns, The Penguin has become more monstrous than he used to be but they toned down his deformities while staying faithful to his class and style.

But that being said, DeVito's Penguin is one of the best villain designs in film and it was extremely important in reimagining the character and giving him a more interesting identity. I doubt either of these designs would have existed if it wasn't for the movie. Wether it is the best or not is up for debate, but it is undoubtly the most important redesign for the character.

Mckean's look really should get featured in some adaptation, it would be great to actually see this monstrocity talk and move

It does feel a bit cluttered.
I think they should have made his coat less detailed and maybe have stuck with a hat.
I really like it, especially the gloves, but I can see your point.
>>
>>91722829
Speaking of 'A Serious House', even though he only appears for 3~4 pages it has by far the most interesting version of Maxie Zeus.
>>
>>91723927
Depends entirely on the style of the story.

Yeah the face and the gloves are definitely great, but the body has too much going on.
It would have been much better if they covered his body with a coat or something that he could then remove to reveal the toxins and tubes coming out of his body.
>>
>>91726035
I would go as far to say as the only good version of Maxie Zeus, good enough that he completely inspired a character in my own book series

>>91726181
>>91726250
too low tech, batman should ALWAYS have body armor. The measure of goodness is how good do they manage to make the armor look without overdesigning it like in Arkham Knight or The Dark Knight

definitely the one on the left. However, I always found penquin boring as shit regardless of the version
>>
>>91726667
Left. Not even a contest.
I really dislike how they handled Penguin in TNBA, with the removal of his mannerisms, the Burton-inspired design and the addition of the Iceberg Lounge.
At least Paul Williams was still in the role but man what a waste it was.

Could work. Pain and Prejudice did it.
But even then, his characterization in TNBA also wasn't as good, it wasn't just the design.

Fuck off /tv/ the movie character barely has a legitimate association to the comics one, and the coat is not nearly as iconic as you want it to be.
>>
>>91723320
Bane doesn't have an elaborate costume at all. He wears black pants, a black shirt, a mask and sometimes the venom gear.
>>
>>91726053
This, but the Adams design is pretty fucking good for most types of stories.
>>
>>91726667
I feel the Burton one is required only to sell the scenes when Cobblepot must flip the table and become a screaming mad, violent gangster. Making him too dapper cuts that short a little I feel.

he still looks like a ridiculous luchador motherfucker without any protective/utilitarian gear too often

I feel like TNBA removed most of The Penguin's personality when they decided to reimagine him as a legit businessman and helped to kill the momentum he had going after the movie.

Batman TAS managed to find a perfect balance between the deformed, uncouth and tragic monster from Returns, and the dapper eccentric gentleman wannabe from the comics. It wasn't just the design, there was an entire personality that worked with the design and his brilliant voicework.

Unfortunately, they decided to relegate him to a bland caricature stuck in the Iceberg Lounge (which by this point has become a plot device that allowed DC to unoficially retire The Penguin).
