It seems to be the kind of show that would've been the talk of a 4th-6th classroom due to the transgressiveness of staying up late to watch a show with that amount of gore and lewdness. The earliest South Park seasons served that purpose for my peers and I growing up.

That being said, I don't really expect this to evolve like South Park did.

I appreciated the show playing with its format in the second season.
There are entire episodes where all Mr Pickles can really do is wait for the plot to resolve before he can kill anything.

His horrific, twisted work is adored by the network and he keeps getting renewed. He tries doing everything he can, pushing every boundary, violating his own moral code but he's adored for his edginess. He can't escape.
