their socialist way of life creates a paradise for artists, but basically the death of culture. It's unsustainable in the extreme. People in france are like, impossible to fire, and spend 40% of the year en vacances. they've been relying on the UK and Deutschland for monetary support, and now half of that just decided they can fuck off. Considering the influx of muslims, I think it's safe to say good French art is going to be available for a limited time only.

The Muslim immigration since the 60s hasn't even slowed it down. In fact it has inspired and participated in birthing some acclaimed French cartoons (Les Lascars and Persepolis come to mind).
