Slott was OK on Spider-Man in the beginning but he's far overstayed his welcome.

I actually fucking loved his She-Hulk series. He used to "get" Spidey in that series but goddamn, the insane decline in quality is glaringly obvious.

He should have bowed out after Spider Island.

Same thing that happens to every creator /co/ likes. Once he got a big popular book they turned on him.

It's just really bad with Slott because he's stayed on that book for so long, usually creators leave after a year or two at most. So the hate has time to build and build until we get to where we are now.

This. I liked his Great Lakes Avengers and She-Hulk runs, as well as some of his early Spider-Man stories. But for about five years now, the quality of his work has been mediocre at best and insultingly bad at worst. It doesn't help that he acts like a total asshole online. I realise that's a stupid thing for someone who visits 4chan to hold against someone else, but I like to think that Spider-Man's lead writer should show some professionalism when interacting with fans on social media.

There's a difference when you're being a total asshole on 4chan compared to being a total asshole out in public and also as a representation of a company.
