Would Mosaic sell better if he was a white mutant instead of a black inhuman?
>>91696491
mosaic would have sold better if the first issue didn't depict a black kid stealing a car for his debut
>>91696491
New characters rarely do well. Kamala is lucky she was selling well for as long as she did.
Mosaic would have to be featured and supported in GOOD comics and strike a chord with readers. And he'd have to grind at it for several years. It'd help if he was constantly around popular characters. Shame inhumans aren't that and mutants are just clawing back from editorially mandated genocide.

Who?
>>91696491
Mosiac is a NBA star, car thieving body snatcher, who isnt human and looks like they have lightning powers.
Mosaic is almost as bad as an idea as DC's first attempt (never released) at a black superhero, the "Black Bomber", a white supremascist who turned into a black man with explosion powers at midnight.
No, because there's plenty of white mutans that can't sell for shit.
They tried giving Gambit an ongoing, he's relatively famous, and yet I'm pretty sure that series lasted less than a year as well.
Doubtful because people would've come up with any reason possible like here >>91697094 to avoid having to buy it because new characters without heavy marketing behind them pretty much don't sell.
>>91696491
no cause no one reads comics anyway
>>91697094
The Black Bomber actually sounds pretty rad
Whatever they DID do obviously didn't work
Which is sad because I actually liked the concept and the first issue
>>91696491
It may have done a little better if he was a mutant.
'Inhumans' has become code for 'don't by this book' among the Mahvel fanbase.
>>91696491
Mosaic would have sold better if the first issue wasn't fucking $5
>>91697820
Wait, only the first one is bad, the rest is just republishing press releases from Marvel announcing Mosaic
I do remember cringeworthy news titles though, this is just not those
>>91697197
His first series lasted like three years, although that was at the height of X-Dominance and off the back of the Fox cartoon.
>>91696491
No. Marvel cant move anything but tent pole events anymore.
>>91697820
You're basically seeing all of their shilling. They had an announcement in Vulture and... that's it. You had dumb writers making a race thing about the first issue when the book doesn't have anything to do with race and everything to do with a guy trying to get back an identity that he finds out was never real to begin with.
>>91698547
Yep, which is a damn shame because that's a tried-and-true theme that can produce some gems, but Mosaic ended being a dud
>>91696491
mosaic would sell better if he wasn't a shithuman, period
anything, but inhuman
>>91697841

you mean, x-fags, which are 90% of the buying fanbase, with the remaining 10% being spider-fags
