It's The Angry Beavers 20th anniversary and there is something that I have wanted to know since I started watching Angry Beavers
Why did they constantly mispronounce words? If I recall correctly, they never explained it in the show, so why did they do it? For Rugrats, you could say that they're babies, but what about this show?
Also, I have been rewatching this show lately for it's 20th anniversary, since I am a very dedicated 90s Nickelodeon fan. If you want to join our community, there's a group on Facebook called 90s Nickelodeon Fans
Sorry if I caused any harm

'Cause it's funny.
For humor and emphasis.
>>91660728
Because the show had the finest voicey actoirs, and it was the best way to showcase their rangé.

Don't you mean emfaysus?
Did anyone notice the credits gags back in the 90s?
One episode had credits like this
"We need to get the shows out faster"
And it was in the credits.

this. I never found it offputting or anything, I used to do the same thing with my friends sometimes.
Did this show have any waifus?

Holy shit, i loved this show as a kid. How does it hold up, it's been years since i last saw an episode.
>>91664299
The anime parody holds up well enough. Shoulder pads straight out of Iczer One in that.

They had a really cute design for an anime parody.
>it's a wonderful life episode
>Everyone's life is a million times better without Daggett

>that episode Norbert kept bopping Daggett into last week
That was my favorite episode of the series and my second favorite was the Halloween special
>The Lumberjack episode
>It's a musical
did expect it to be that entertaining.

>>91660728
It's a gag. A good one at that but it doesn't work on people who didn't know the correct pronunciation so it's a hit or miss.
The best example of this for me was the guy doing the launch countdown in Mission to the Big Hot Thingy.

I remember when this show was airing when i was a kid. My mom loved this and Rocco, so she would always tell me when to watch it with her. I assume it was so she had an excuse to watch it. Lots of fun though. Makes me nostalgic af.
Poor Norbert, that doorstop was a lie.
>8 years old

t-thanks dad. Is it worth watching the whole series, /co/?
>>91668520
For a short laugh or two.
They have the best bachelor pad in cartoon history
They play with words through mispronunciation
They have great voice actors at their best
I don't recommend binge watching. Watch two at most everyday.
>>91668520
It's a good show. It gets weird at times though.

>>91669348
The Halloween episode also comes to mind when it comes to well known episodes.
>>91668520
I think the show's hilarious.
>He's a Christopher Walken character
why i don't know but it was great.
I'm disappointed that Nickelodeon didn't air the final episode of this show.
>>91670377
wasn't it because they broke the 4th wall for the finale that nick canned it early?
>Suddenly Musical
I love this show at times.
>>91660728
Mostly it was improv fuckery. I heard this show got a lot of creative freedom for the time so they just decided to do the silliest shit to see what would happen.
>It's a time travel episode
>>91664357

Welcome to the house of Oxnard Montalvo.
I remember watching an episode where Daggett won't stop thumping his tail on the ground and I am 100% convinced it was a euphemism for masturbation. The dad beaver even visits him and is like "it's fun and natural, but chill out"
This was a great show.
Unexcepted fact, isn't it?
I can't believe most of 90s Nickelodeon are 2 decades old.
Next year, it will have been 20 years since CatDog has come out. I have way too many strong memories of that show, it goes up there with Rugrats and Blue's Clues as my most nostalgic 90s Nickelodeon shows. I feel old

>>91672902
I honestly like that they are brothers instead of best friends. It feels more unique for a Nicktoon honestly
>>91673913
>Next year, it will have been 20 years since CatDog has come out.

>Daggett say Urethra instead of Eureka

>>91684233
>That time when nick had shut up censored and make it sound more risque as a result
>>91684035
>The campfire episode that changes artsyles
>Stump's part of the story is this over-the-top dramatic black-and-white Scottish film
>Norbert's character goes on this lengthy, incomprehensibly Shakespearean rant about what he's going to do to Daggett
>TREEFLOWER: "Okay, you lost me."
>NORBERT: "I'm gonna chuck a log at him."
>does so
>DAGGETT: "YE OLDE SPOOT!"
I haven't had sides since.
Remember that episode where Dag turned into a fat singing lady to win arguments
'I AIN'T NO STOOPY POOPY BEAVER
I WILL SHOW YOU MY BROTHER'
I also dug the show's retro 60/70s vibe
>>91668484

>Dag just goes "Fuck it", throws the alligator into the house with them and says to work it out
>A few moments later Bing's actual girlfriend shows up
>Dag, completely done with this shit, also throws her into the house and says to work it out

I like this show and have watched through it a couple of times, and I'm glad to see it getting some recognition on here, but I was always a little disappointed with those episodes where it just felt like they were 80% finished and aired anyway, where you can practically see the seams of the episode being held together.
>>91668126

>>91668520
Your dad's a cunt. Watch it.
Just rewatched this show along with Rocko a few years ago, it holds up pretty well.
Loved the bizarre humor that this one had along with the old movie throwbacks from charaters like the Grapadura and Ricardo Montalbo.
Still like Rocko a lot more since I could relate to that show a lot since I was working for the first time and moved from my parents.

We watched our dub, and the few english on-screen words were simply glanced over, translated in dub with one of the beavers reading aloud what stands there in the respective language or simply included, like in the salmon episode Dag simply saying "I'll tell you what spawning means- "spawn" as our English beaver friends say it-" when pulling in the chalkboard.
