if you actually read into what Marston and his lovers intended for wonder woman, it wasnt just female empowerment, it was also heavily based on love through submission. The idea that you should submit yourself, 100%, to someone that truly loves you to help better yourself. Trusting them to the fullest extent that they want what is best for your.
Superman isnt really immigration so much as he is fits the natural messiah/prophetic archtype which always features immigration. There are basic elements of the moses/jesus stories that Superman share. For example Superman is both sent to earth from above by a knowing father like jesus, but also sent by a caring mother from a home on the brink of destruction in a little craddle like structure like moses. He is adopted by the locals like moses and stands up against Lex who can be drawn to be like the romans and pharoh. Superman falls in love with a woman from the local populace, like moses, and ultimately "leads" them to a better place (genesis of superheroes, "they will stumble" speech from All Star Superman/MoS)
Batman is taking your pain, something that should overwhelm you, and using it for something good. For example, money corrupts almost everyone in Gotham but Bruce, because he uses for charity and the general good. Similarly Bruce's unhealthy, obsessive war on the very idea of crime, born from the death of his parents, mirrors the obsessions any of his famous villains have (Ivy with her plants, Mad Hatter with Alice in wonderland, Riddler with riddles, etc.) except that he doesnt let himself become consumed by it like the villains do, he turns it into something constructive. You can see these theme highlighted in lots of "End of" type stories where the villains are always being shown as having, or had, their obsessions transformed into something more constructive/healthy only to relapse back into their villainous selves.
