>It's another cartoon where all the characters have four fingers on each hand
Why do people still allow this?
I feel like it's just tradition at this point. So much that barely anyone really thinks to question it.
Well actually, it's three fingers and one thumb

Because it's easier for them to draw.
Less appendages to animate, but 4 is enough where the hands don't seem abnormal at a quick glance

Guess which show fixed it.

Sugar has a hand fetish, SU doesn't count

>le epic thumb is not a finger meme
Hands are hard.
Those two fingers they cut out is bound to save time in the long run. For every 3 hands they've drawn they've saved time of having to draw 1.
Based Springer will fix this

Not with that handshape.

Luckily it finally seems to be dying off, only non-human or very goofy characters seem to have them anymore.

I'd argue it's more an even keel more than anything. Because for every SU or Marvel/DC production, shows like Star Vs., We Bare Bears, the PPG reboot, Loud House and long runners like Simpsons, SpongeBob and MacFarlane's shit utilize four-fingered hands.
And that's before getting into Disney's other shows, or the Looney Tunes. Hell, Even Transformers does it on some characters on occasion.
In other words: it's still prominent, just not to the same extent as before.

I heard once from some source that the reason that they do do this is because the middle finger represents the size of your dick.
So if you have only four fingers, you have no middle finger.
No middle finger means you have no dick.
