When I was real young I thought that you could only watch cartoons or only watch live action shows. Like one was for kids one was for adults. Once I started watching Drake and Josh, I thought I was done with cartoons for good.

I can only watch live action shows if they take themselves seriously, and they are fantastical enough to hold my interest.

So I can watch

The Americans
Vikings
Walking Dead (I don't enjoy it now, just too invested to stop)
And a few other shows.

I can't really stand non fiction T.V. or shows that are in a mundane setting, and I judge live action shows a lot more harshly on their writing than I do cartoons. Agents of Shield is a good example where the first season was decent, but later on I couldn't stomach it.

I can't bring myself to watch live action shows.
My irl friends all sperg out over netflix shows but I just see them as a huge waste of time.
At least when watching cartoons I can enjoy bright colors and an approach of stylization. And enjoy the porn

It's kind of like how my dad watches a good animated film and goes, "I would've enjoyed this more if it was live-action." I'd just enjoy things more if they were animated, preferably 2D.

I guess cause I enjoy cartoons/anime as a form of escapism, but with live-action shows it doesn't disconnect me from reality as well as 2D does.

I think the problem for me is that I draw a lot, so my main interest is in cartoons already. If I attempt to connect to a live action show though, I just can't seem to find much entertainment out of it. Something's just not clicking for me.

Though I'd be lying if I said shit like Tiny House Nation or How It's Made doesn't fucking enthrall me. Those kind of innocent, neat-o shows that just showcase cool stuff are still a fun watch. But anything that's written and acted just doesn't do it for me. I know a lot of those shows obviously have writers, you know what I mean.

But yeah, in general, I only seem to find interest in cartoons these days.

I kinda have the opposite problem. I'm a tokufag and whenever I'm watching an action cartoon/anime I just feel like I'd enjoy it more if it was live action. Love me some animated comedies/slice of lifes though.

Cartoons (and anime, I guess, but fuck that shit) are essentially timeless. It is MUCH easier to replace a VA to the point that it's pretty much impossible to tell the difference than an actor.

No, but my brothers do. It's pretty hard to motivate them to watch anything that isn't animated. I think I used to have the same problem, but now that I've been indefinitely turned off from anime, I've taken it upon myself to binge all the critically acclaimed American shows from the past decade that I missed out on.

I'm genuinely glad I'm not this way. While animated media grabs my attention way more than live-action, I'm still capable of stepping away from it and enjoy the feel of something different.
