>It's a tabletop gaming episode
>It always looks like a magical journey into imagination
What's it really like though?

Just a bunch of guys saying Milves and Smurves cause of wolves and elves.
You could just watch that show made by Dan Harmon's friend.
He DM's a game of D&D with an overarching story, and guest stars each episode. I think that Elijah Wood was on it once.

Depends on the party, rule set, GM, etc.

Yeah that show is pretty great even if it's basic. Waiting for Season 2.
>always dnd
>no cyberpunk games
>no world of darkness
>not even babby's first 40k

What was that even called? I know it had Dan Harmon in the even though they repeatedly stressed the fact that it wasn't his show... in the show.

>not playing call of cthulhu mystery games

guys, guys, I think we can compromise

I'd kill for a cartoon to go balls to the wall with WoD/VtM references.
It arguably is the least faggy version of modern vampires.

>everybody is too afraid to try a new system and learn new rules
>takes the time to learn to minmax and exploit the game they already know
you know who you are

For my group it always ends up as an (admittedly hilarious) comedy, regardless of the system or setting.
Been thinking about making a cartoon and comics themed board game
>basically roger rabbit setting where cartoons and comic book characters are real but live in their cartoon world away from real people, and just work as actors
>noir/ slightly dystopic future setting where real cartooning is dying in favor of those minimalist blobs you see in ads all the time
>different schools of art and animation are the different classes and races, so cartoons can divide into tex avery style wacky animals, 90's edgy experimental animations, flash web cartoons, disney, hanna barbera, etc, anime divides into 80's cyberpunk, magical girls, dbz shonen characters, etc, soviet animation gets its own spot
>real human characters would have to fit into genre roles like noir detectives, cowboys, gangsters, etc, so it's always something like john wayne and scooby doo solving a murder case
>anti toon death squads, pro toon degenerates that are basically online porn artists that can summon their shit and go full slaneesh, old guard of animators turned into a cult, new wave animators in another proto cult, artists might be censored due to the raw powers, and society crumbles due to no real way to express new catharsis
>put in obscure shit like alien crop circles being characters too, cave paintings opening up portals to what's basically elder god chalk zone, ancient hieroglyphs taking the place of dead civilizations so shit like ancient egypt still exists but everyone there is flat, have a flatlander dimension, make toonforce an actual thing
>ruleset would include dub rolls deciding if something becomes a recurring joke or not, a system for comedy and coolness in general, characters losing ink and lineart instead of health, etc
would you be into it?
