honestly, depending on how this was done though, it could be pretty good. Maybe don't have the "ancestor" be quite like that to start with, but then through a misunderstanding of Kamala's actions, suddenly get a flashback or something to when they witnessed a Muslim do something similar which ended with violently, and go all Deus Vult to try and prevent it. Then you get this awesome fight that ends with everyone realizing that no one was truly in the wrong, both characters had the best intentions, but that hot tempers and ancestral grudges aren't always good reasons to fight.

most "white trash" people in the south and midwest come from Scottish, Irish, Scandinavian, and other countries like that, where there is a well known tradition of warriors.

On top of that "white trash" areas were some of the last to be "civilized" and remained pretty wild. Even fifty years ago most folks still hunted and trapped to help feed themselves. Back a few hundred years ago, we're talking about people who could live off the land Dual Survival style, fight bears, and make everything by hand.

We're talking a skill set that ranges from skilled melee fighters to Davy Crockett levels of tracking and sharpshooting, not to mention all manner of crafting.
