During the beginning of the Nu52, they changed Guy's family into basically just being the O'Dares from Opal City. Guy's brother wasn't a corrupt cop, his father wasn't abusive and he suddenly had a sister. Looks like they're changing things back though which is good cause that shit family life is what caused him to even become a GL in the first place.

Those new hardly qualify as Lanterns. Getting pushed over by a normal person is on par with flying against a road sign and passing out, maybe even below.
But because Earth needs Lanterns, because it's not like every other fucking hero and story is already be set there, they made new GLs. One might hav just focused on the Corps itself and flesh them out, but then they couldn't take two other Americans.

The only issue I have with the gun is that he doesn't incorporate it with his lantern ring.

Like turn the handgun into a railgun that accelerates the bullet velocity using green energy or something. Make it shoot green bullets. Make a hotwheels race track for the bullet to do crazy things like go loop de loop and to the enemy's hand.

He came back massively younger. In his new origin that Johns wrote, him and John are the same age in opposing factions of the military. Originally when Hal got his ring, John wasn't even a teenager yet.
It used to be Hal >= Guy > age gap > John > age gap > Kyle. Nowadays they're all basically the same age with Kyle being slightly younger.
