Are people really bitching about the new season of Samurai Jack?

I think a lot of it is contrarianism and dedicated autists. I'm not trying to deflect criticism here, I understand some of the complaints, but the first 2 weeks everyone loved and the hype was at an all time high
This got the autists on the board annoyed because their special snowflake show wasn't getting the same attention and they started making threads against SJ. The autism of people on this board can't be denied, so I honestly figure they decided instead to shitpost against SJ as best they can to make people join the hate hivemind and try and ruin everyones fun, since it's not *their* show.

Also, after Week 3, it leaked that Jack would team up with Ashi next episode. This alone pissed people off and they decided then that they'd hate it, rather than giving it a chance. I know since I was there after Ep2. Combine that with the missed week which killed some of the hype, the bitterness rose through.

That's not to say its a perfect show and some complaints aren't valid. But I swear it can't be a coincidence that on a Monday I see a thread asking "When /co/ will turn on Samurai Jack" and by the Thursday there seems to be this mass hating of Samurai Jack

Yeah, dialogue is too direct and Jack often doesn't sound like himself (like the modern intonation he uses for "you are troubled" or whatever in the last ep). Based on what's been released so far and the TV episode description snippets of upcoming eps, plot's looking like generic action-adventure pulp and the whole thing feels like it's missing the charm and wholesomeness of the original, like Genndy forgot what SJ was really like.
It's not terrible by any means, and I'm still enjoying it and anticipating the rest. There've been some great visuals and last ep was the closest Jack's been to being authentically Jack-y.
I mean, generic adventure plot with good visuals and a comfy nostalgia coating is more appealing than the vast majority of modern cartoons. It has its flaws but it's nice.

Blue Jack acts as a filter, dissecting his madness from sanity. The struggle is real tho and that is a serious drama going on.

My only real issue with it is how unsubtle the Blue Jack scenes are. Samurai Jack was and is a show that relies on letting its scenes and actions tell a story and provide insight into how its character feel and thing; a long shot of dew falling off a leaf, the way a character's eyes close at the sight of something, so on and so forth. It got pretentious sometimes, but it was a rare example of decompressed and visual storytelling. Now we just have Blue Jack show up and tell the audience how Jack is feeling and what he's struggling with. Subtext has become text, and I feel that's a sad thing. It's still a great show (episode 4 has been the best thing I've watched in a long time), it's just disappointing that it lost a bit.

Blue Jack is meant to show just how serious Jack's mental health has gotten. Even then, we have a subtle and cinematic expression of that via the Shadow Samurai.

The moments you were talking about worked best in the show's self-contained plotlines, but this season now is one long continuous story.

I'd say Pinky and the Brain, it's slightly obscure for the newfags that overrun this place and the only hate that surrounds it and Animaniacs is with that TMS fag or whatever that thing was about. Also early seasons of currently running shows, such as Simpsons, Spongebob, and Family Guy (but that one has its fair share of dislikers).

Any others would probably be really obscure cartoons, if I'm not forgetting any post 1980s cartoons.
