Not sure why they made the new series a sequel to prime when it's obvious that it's targeted at an even younger audience.

Feels like it wastes the potential set forth by its predecessors, but the show itself is okay-ish but harder for older viewers to enjoy.

Kind of boring and very episodic, but great villains. There's a lobster-man who turns into a car and sees everything as vidya, which is awesome.

It's a sequel to Prime. Good characters, terrible pacing and overall story.

The characters are actually developed instead of being walking tropes, with episodes often focusing on resolving a character's conflict--imagine a more violent version of MLP. However, the main story suffers, discarding interesting villains and storylines like Megatronus just to bring back hecking Steeljaw . Also it sucks at exposition/lore, with many events/characters such as Optimus' revival by the Primes or Windblade being poorly explained/built up.

That's exactly my problem. He was turned into one by this show's mediocre writing. His role may have been that of a generic Darkseid-esque threat, but his backstory is interesting http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Megatronus_(WFC)#Aligned_continuity_family He was one of the 13 Primes . I remember reading about his past on the wiki and getting super hyped, but they didn't explore his background at all, they just killed him with off and brought freaking Steeljaw back.
