it's kind of like a tiara. storm, polaris, and scarlet witch immediately come to mind for wearing them
>>
>>91365675
so theres no like comic/costume name for it? thanks

There's probably a specific name for that type of thing but don't expect anybody around here to know it. While similar headbands are used in some costumes it's not really a talking point in the stories.

I believe its a loose stylization of the roman helmet with cheek guard.

For what its worth, the old City of Heroes game had a mask like Artemis' here and it was labeled "roman".

I have no idea of the names but yeah, there was a style of roman helmet where it had a rather plain helmet (cap) bit, then the forehead and cheekbone covers were ornate.

When you boil that look down to superherodom you get, well, exactly what Artemis is sporting.

Its not even that uncommon in roman-themed comic characters.

Herc's headpiece is sometimes drawn this way, and its what his headpiece has always supposed to be invocative of but some artists over-simplify it.

City of Heroes main character, their superman equivalent, didn't even bother with stylization - he wore the actual forehead and cheekbone helmet bits *without* the cap.

IIRC the character was exceptionally long-lived and was a former roman soldier.
