Epilogue is CANWC / THE HOUSE SWITCH PLACES, which is also directly connected to Hiveswap. After the reveal CANWC will move to the official site and will continue as Homestuck 2.0, the next MSPA adventure. Hussie is literally just taking all the characters the fans felt were most underserved in Homestuck and making them the stars of the sequel, by killing off everyone else (making them 'corrupted' non-characters). Jack, Rose, Kanaya, Aradia, Sollux, and possibly a handful of other later characters. Probably something dumb like the dream bubbles continuing on from end of Homestuck and everyone there being normal.

As for the retcon, at one point almost everyone died and it was an overwhelming villain victory, at which point John, who had gotten retcon powers, which are basically time travel but without all the limitations of Dave's power and allow to actually modify the main timeline, was directed to return to the past and change a couple of key events.

This resulted in cancelling the well deserved death of a controversial character who then acted as a deus ex machina, as in the new timeline she had successfully prevented the deaths of everyone.

By getting the backers their codes in advance it ensures they'll be able to play the game when it releases along side the people who just buy it when it releases.

I'm not talking about reviews or anything just making sure the backers aren't waiting for support while people who didn't back the game are playing it.

It happened with mighty number 9 where the game could be bought in stores while the backers were waiting for the game codes to be released and sort out errors with support (wrong emails/wrong codes etc)

it was introduced even before we had a clue what it meant, as a promise that he would limit his direct interference to 'three feet', visualized with ARs spear-shaft meterstick, snapped to the right length.

this intrigue was later seemingly resolved when we understood that it amounted to a minimal fudging of how Jade+John (in the yellow ship) got to the new session (which could have just as easily been handwaved without the meta bullshit), by passing through two 'fenestrated planes' in Hussies (fake) 'IRL' home office. the 'yellow yard' was his measure of exactly how wide he needed to set the gap to make the time work out. he also used the opportunity to fudge their getting some more God-Tiers to 'unlock' the ability to speak face-to-face (a goofy joking conceit which was disposed of across the board with the start of Act 6).

basically he teased how self-aware the comic was becoming with this big long foreshadowing spiel about 'toying with forces beyond mere destruction, forces which could destroy the capability of any rational person to give a single fuck', then (seemingly) shut it down as having been a big joke (reassuring the audience he was not actually going to tank his own narrative).

of course, as we now know, he later got killed and came back as a ghost and became essentially just another character in the comic, doing a lot of stuff to enormously directly influence the plot (everything with robo-jack, everything with caliborn, futzing around in most or all of the Act 6 walkabouts, iirc he was directly involved in the Marquis coat theft which ties to LE 'creation' somehow behind the scenes, a good chunk of the [S]Collide features him wrasslin Vriska, etc.) and eventually the Retcon happened, fulfilling his (latent) promise from the foreshadowing spiel to completely destroy the internal logic and consistency of the story, turning it into objective garbage.

Retcon is, literally, a retcon. The icon of bad serial writing.

I seriously don't understand what andrew was thinking. the whole comic you get allusions to lord english seeding himself in such a way that "he's le already here xdd' and for fucking what. the timeline doesn't even make sense by the end.

it was basically perfectly crafted from the idea's inception, much like so many of andrew's initial ideas, and then he fucks it all up with the retcon, where english is fucking created post-retcon thus retroactively fucking up the events leading up to the retcon in the first place. DONT GIVE ME ANY OF THAT "IT JUST WERKS" TIME LORD BULLSHIT, IT DOESNT JUST WERK, he was seeded in such a way that the timeloops you talk about are the reason he exists, only to show that he was created with post-retcon characters in the masterpiece, (banishing the house juju to the furthest ring by the way) and being put into cal, and thus kicking off events again, trailing up the line to his release in intermission 2, but oh wait, it's attached to a universe that has been retconned in such a way that it wouldn't allow this to happen for countless reasons.

and there's no "oh time and space work differently in the void, cal probably ended up in another timeline that then gets retconned ad infinitum", because at that point you're making up bullshit to prop up a narrative that has contradicted itself way too many times. if we follow that path the only logical conclusion we get is that the whole retcon storyline is another causal loop that ties into paradox space's ability to bow to andrew's shitty storytelling whim, in which case this story can go fuck itself
