The costume is better than the 1960s Beetle costume, but not as good as the 1980s costume, and Ultimate Beetle doesn't have as much characterisation as Beetle had even pre-Thunderbolts.

That one's not bad, but is too bright for my liking.

He didn't need to, considering his role in the game and the following story. Tho it indeed was a dick move by Bendis to completely forget about him later.
