Hey /co/, head DC hiring person here. We're looking for new art talent and I wanted to know which artists you would like to see drawing comics and which artists you would like to see drawing comic covers.
No one from Japan.
How about anyone that isn't rooted in the house styles of the 90s. Marvel might be a fucking mess, but at least their books have a diverse range of artists.

Just curious, why no one from Japan? A manga style might be a cool look for a book

Very few people get hired from Japan like that, it just doesn't happen

Well in that case, I'd love to see Skottie Young do a book for you guys maybe for a Young Animal title. I would also love to see a return of Mile Mignola, Sam Kieth, and Eric Powell either on covers or interior would be awesome. Christopher Uminga would be a great cover artist especially on horror titles, Kate Beaton on covers for Your Batgirl, Wonder Woman or BoP titles would be cool. Also if you could pass it along I would love to see the 90's series Gross Point finally collected

Do you know who James Stokoe is? Look at his stuff. He's a killer artist who's gotten known for some IDW Godzilla stuff. And, on that theme of Godzilla artist, there's also Matt Franks. I'd get him to do covers mostly, though. He knows how to make those epic pictures that get your attention.
And if you wanna go really weird, get Terry Crews to do a strange variant cover just for the sheer hell of it. He's actually an incredible artist.
The point is, you can do so much. Like, get a well known show-creator with a distinctive style to make a cover. People'll like that.
