3-6 is peak, watchable is 1,7-10.

Seasons 4, 5 and 6 are the best.

Season 1 is quaint and inspired. Season 2 solidifies the core principles, and 3 improves upon and tries some shit.

It does take a long time to go downhill. I'd say whatever season has episode 300 with Tony Hawk and Blink 182, THAT is probably where to stop.

Seasons 3-8 are the very best

Seasons 2 and 9 are fantastic, just not the greatest.

Season 1, 10, and 11 are very entertaining but flawed.

After that, you're pretty much done. Season 11's Behind the Laughter makes for a good series finale.

Behind the Laughter is pure Zombie Simpsons. It keeps being brought up as a good finale, but it's just more of the same crap that killed the show. Might as well call the movie a "good" finale.

simpsons has stayed largely the same. only reason people bitch is because they've seen the same plotlines done over and over. it's actually changed very little and some of the later stuff is pretty decent. there's no real specific part where it suddenly jumps the shark.

there are people who still nowadays think the whole post-movies Futurama are bad because the first half of season 6 was weak and are unable to get beyond that. So, definitely yes.

I always felt that once the simpson went full HD, it went to full trash mode.

there were a couple of episodes from season 10-19 that were pretty good.
