CN has already been in another dark age since 2014, when Christie Miller took over.

There may no longer be live-action shows on CN, but the CHECK it 3.0, 4.0, and Dimensional Eras have absolutely been horrible with their variety, scheduling and advertisements. Over the last few years Adult Swim in 10 hours literally has over twice the amount of shows that CN is airing in 14 hours right now.

And merch makes more money than ratings, especially since all profits from TTG have to be split with DC Comics.

There's no reason CN would be canning Steven at this point, especially when ratings are pretty shit for all their other shows.

Only one more season has been ANNOUNCED. We don't actually know how many have been ordered. CN usually announces seasons close to when they're going to air, which is months after they actually go into production.

We do know that they were still doing voice recording for SU as recently as two weeks ago, based on Sugar's twitter. Given that voicework is one of the earliest steps in the production process, there's no way they would still be doing voice stuff for season 5 at this point, they'd be well into the animation by now. Voices are usually recorded at least a year before an episode airs.

So either the production is WAY behind, or they're working on season 6.

Sure, the show deserves hate on a few issues. Storyboarders not being unified in style/scale and characterization for one. The latter seasons seemingly being unable to have both gems and townies in a single episode. Remember Frybo? That episode was not only a Peedee episode but a Pearl episode that first showcased gem shards. Nowadays if you see townies you probably won't see gems and vice versa.

But most of the 'criticism' I see in these regular hate threads is laughably uninformed. A SJW cartoon wouldn't have a straight (if a bit faggy) white male ALWAYS be correct and have him be better in strength, intelligence, and general morals than an entire cast of 'women of color'. A SJW show wouldn't cherish and and preach about good fathers while the only mothers we see are failures to themselves and to their children. A SJW cartoon wouldn't have a single male defeat the matriarchy by simply talking to them and letting them cry it out.

Really I'm split on whether the SU hatebase (so not those with legitimate concerns) are really that stupid, or whether they're actually SU fans who try and push people towards their side with fake hate.
